Events in the great outdoors
Some of our most exciting events take place in venues, state parks, and remote areas that most people would never expect. Non-Fixed sites are some of the most challenging activities that we face in the industry. A majority of non-fixed venues take place in locations that are away from a majority of the services provided to fixed venues. MedStar can plan and execute a medical plan designed for your non-traditional site.
MedStar’s team has worked in some of the most remote locations where local public safety agencies may be more than an hour response time away. Our goal is to provide the highest level of care possible in a non-fixed setting while limiting the number of ambulance transports out of your venue. MedStar meets with venue management and public safety agencies to develop, implement, and execute a safety response plan that covers your event and venue from beginning to end. MedStar has a solution for any location you plan and can customize to our capabilities and resources to fit your needs best.
Our on-site team will always have the ability to immediately contact and consult with medical direction and our medical director. We are appropriately licensed and insured to ensure your event is properly covered.

All of our providers specialize in patient care designed for special events. They have years of field experience, but here they learn the unique situations that occur during the various types of events, common injuries, and special care to provide. Seldom does an ambulance company or fire department train for this specialty care critical for this. Below are just some of the training we provide.

All EMS Teams FEMA TRAINED
All of our medical staff are trained in the National Incident Management Systems (NIMS) training for Incident Command (ICS), as established by Homeland Security. FEMA training for Active Shooter has also been completed.
Concerts and Festivals
Millions of people in the USA attended concerts ranging in size from large to small community-based events. MedStar EMS has a solution for every type of concert venue out there. Concerts often take place in set locations and large non-fixed venues, often with minimal resources in place before the event taking place. MedStar specializes in setting up an EMS system in all types of environments and locations.
MedStar Solutions will meet with venue management, concert producers, and other public safety agencies before the event to perform a pre-show walkthrough, develop a response and safety plan specific to that venue and production. MedStar will also coordinate with all of the local public safety agencies to make sure that your event is covered 100% from beginning to end.
Our MedStar Solutions team can provide your event with as little as a single EMT team, paramedic ALS level teams, tents or mobile care facilities, response vehicles or med carts, and even on-site physician oversight. By providing the many levels of options, MedStar strives to limit the number of ambulance transports from your event. We currently have clients that utilize us for their single and multi-day music festivals at fixed and non-fixed locations. We provide medical services for many concerts and festivals, street fairs, and art shows presented by local and significant promoters such as AEG, Live Nation, Lucky Man, and Relentless Beats.
Ultra sporting events including running, mountain biking, maratohns, biathlons, marathons, and other extreme outdoor adventures are served well with our advanced specialty medical providers and resources.
Endurance Sports
MedStar’s EMS team has found a great niche providing services for the endurance sports areas for running, mountain biking, triathlons, and other longer courses that also operate in adverse locations and conditions.
With the ability of our EMT’s to provide IV hydration and respiratory medications, we have been rapidly gaining these clients that need this specialty care. This treatment on-site helps minimize the need for ambulance transports or calling in search and rescue teams.
We are very fortunate to have a proactive, sports-oriented medical director and local trauma doctor. With the benefit of the company also providing our educational component (MSTI), it allows our providers to maintain advanced capabilities, skills, and continuing education.
Our most recent challenge was providng all medical services for the first ever 250-mile endurance run in Arizona. This event began in the North Phoenix area, going into Prescott, Cottonwood, Sedona, and ending up running throughout Flagstaff. During this five-day event, we staffed 13 aid stations, had mobile response emergency vehicles, UTVs and all coordinated through our mobile communications trailer with our incident command team working around the clock.
Sporting Venues
From baseball to basketball, hockey to soccer, fans by the thousands head to stadiums all over the world to watch their favorite sporting event. Many stadiums also double as concert venues or host other types of events. MedStar has the experience you need to handle any event in your stadium and arena. MedStar has experience with several semi-pro teams as well as major league sports. MedStar management has several years of experience with Major League Baseball (MLB) and other large scale events.
MedStar Solutions can design an EMS system customized to your stadium and needs. We set up a variety of deployment plans to have staff staged appropriately based on the site, attendance, and client needs. Our goal is to provide in-house care to limit the number of ambulance transports from your venue.

Every provider is certified at multiple levels of FEMA Incident Command (ICS) training and trained routinely in emergency TRIAGE and Active Shooter response.
Our SCAT evaluations are based upon the standards of the NHL, NFL, and NBA. Yearly training is required of our providers.
Youth and Competitve Sports
We have created a unique model for youth sports and the competitive needs for medical services. Our education department has developed the latest courses in Concussion Recognition, Sports Injuries, and On-Field Rapid Assessment. Our medical teams perform concussion screening for our sports players and also provides education to many of the governing boards of these organizations.
Our providers give SCAT screenings for head impact-related injuries to best assess potential harm. Our standard has set a new precedence in some youth organizations resulting in our providers, making the call in pulling participants from play.

This is one of our few events where we can staff an individual EMT or Paramedic. However, if the hazards are significant, then we would determine the needs for additional staffing.
With the recent COVID-19 pandemic we now have trained staff for the industry required Compliance Officers. we also can provided training to your crew and offer additional on-site screeners.
Our experienced set EMT and Paramedics can keep you and your crew safe while in productions. Whether filming a commercial or a full movie production, MedStar EMS has a solution for keeping your production set safe. MedStar has experience working all different types of sets, including productions with MTV, Dish, Discovery, Fox Sports West, and others. MedStar can cover your set with a variety of resources to keep your production crew and guests safe.
MedStar works with all levels of the filming industry, from series to commercial productions, to small films, or any size production, in any location. MedStar will meet with your production team to make sure we meet the individual needs of your set.
MedStar understands that each set and location is different with its own obstacles to be faced. MedStar can adapt and change at a moment’s notice to meet your production needs.
We also offer trained COVID-19 Compliance Officers in compliance with the Motion Picture and television producers “White Paper”, CDC, and AZDHS guidelines.
Our EMS team and incident command staff can integrate into the overall safety plan for these unique types of events to ensure safety for these events.
We have developed a proactive plan on COVID Preparedness and Mitigation for our conventions and private events. We have screeners and a full plan to ensure your event complies with CDC and safety guidelines.
